6 Hair Loss Treatments You Can Do at Home

Hair loss is a very common problem that affects us both mentally and physically. Loss or shedding of hair could have numerous causes. Sometimes it is hereditary and inevitable. However, especially today, high levels of stress, medications, hormonal imbalances, some autoimmune diseases, surgeries, extreme bleaching, or vitamin deficiencies could easily lead to hair loss. Most of the time, when it is not hereditary, hair loss is temporary with correct routines and patience. For temporary hair loss, people typically prefer FUE hair transplants for hair regrowth. Besides the operation type, hair transplant in Istanbul is also preferably due to its affordable costs and experienced professionals. If you experience temporary hair loss and do not want to use medications to treat it, here are some alternative treatment methods you could try to stop hair loss at home:

1. Massaging

Massaging your scalp will stimulate the scalp and improve hair health. Massaging is known to improve blood flow. Therefore, by massaging, you will improve the health of your scalp and have healthier and thicker hair. You could take a little time every day to massage your scalp. This will also allow you to relieve tension and stress on your scalp, hence, preventing further hair loss.

You could massage your scalp by using your fingertips. Be careful to not use your nails or you will damage your hair follicles. Move your fingertips across your scalp in small circles. Do not use a lot of pressure while doing this. 3 or 4 minutes of massaging your scalp each day will improve your hair health greatly. You could use this technique with hair oils and masks as well.

2. Aloe Vera

Aloe vera has been used to treat hair loss for a long time. It calms the scalp and conditions the hair. It can help to alleviate dandruff and unclog hair follicles that have become clogged by excess oil. A few times every week, apply pure aloe vera gel to your scalp and hair. You may also use a shampoo and conditioner that contain aloe vera.

3. Coconut Oil

Coconut oil contains fatty acids that prevent hair loss by protecting the protein inside hair follicles. You could use coconut oil before or after washing your hair based on your hair type. For instance, if you have oily hair, it is recommended that you use coconut oil before you wash your hair. You could leave coconut oil on your hair for a while before rinsing it. If you are wondering how to apply coconut oil to your hair, it is very simple. Take some coconut oil and massage it to your hair with your fingertips softly. Make sure you apply coconut oil all over your scalp. Then, you could wash your hair after leaving the coconut oil for a few hours.

4. Onion Juice

The smell of onions could be terrible, but they work really well for hair health. It is proven that onion juice promotes healthy hair growth and treats patchy alopecia areata (an autoimmune disease that causes your body to attack healthy hair follicles) successfully. If you believe you could bear the smell, you should give this treatment a chance.

5. Lemon

Lemon is another food that enhances hair health and growth. Lemon will strengthen your hair follicles and encourage healthy hair growth. Apply lemon juice to your hair and make sure you apply it to your scalp as well. Leave it on for 15 minutes. Then, shampoo your hair. You could consider this as a chemical-free hair mask!

6. Amino Acids

Amino acids are the molecules that build proteins. They allow your body to function healthily. There are different types of amino acids that create different types of protein. Each type has a different function that is crucial for your overall health. Some amino acids’ functions are to keep your hair healthy and promote hair growth. Some people prefer using supplements for the lack of those amino acids, but you could also balance it with the right diet. Try to add more fish, eggs, seeds, nuts, meat, and whole grains to your diet and that will do.
